Dr. Schroeder operates at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center for out-patient and in-patient surgery.
The following procedures are offered in his office:
COLPOSCOPY: This is an in-office method of evaluating abnormal PAP’s. The colposcope allows Dr. Schroeder to view the cervix under magnification to rule out pre-cancer or other abnormalities of the cervix.
LEEP (Loop Electrode Excision Procedure): This is an in-office method of treating pre-cancerous abnormalities of the cervix after colposcopy and appropriate biopsies have been completed.
GYNECOLOGIC ULTRASOUND: Dr. Schroeder is highly qualified and experienced in conducting ultrasound examinations in-office for the evaluation of many gynecologic problems. He performs these imaging studies personally and will interpret the results for you in real time as you and he are watching the monitor.
HYSTEROSCOPY: Dr. Schroeder can perform this very helpful procedure in-office. A small scope is placed through the cervix into the uterus so you and Dr. Schroeder can see the inside of the uterine cavity on the monitor. This is useful in evaluating and treating various uterine bleeding abnormalities.
ENDOMETRIAL ABLATION: Dr. Schroeder prefers the NovaSure to ablate the inner lining of the uterus so that you don’t bleed heavily any more. These procedures can effectively resolve various menstrual disorders without having to resort to hysterectomy. Endometrial ablation also helps do away with menstrual cramps. Endometrial ablation can be done as an outpatient under general anesthesia in the hospital or in Dr. Schroeder’s office with sedation and local anesthesia.
Dr. Schroeder is conscientious in providing effective pain control and sedation whether you are having your procedures done in the office or in the hospital. Please ask him how he intends to minimize your discomfort.
Leslie and Sherry will schedule your procedure. Leslie will determine whether your procedure requires pre-authorization. She will let you know what out of pocket costs you can expect. Dr. Schroeder will see you at your pre-operative appointment so he can discuss your procedure, the alternatives, and the risks. Your questions will be encouraged and answered.
